Frequently Asked Questions:

SUBMISSION PROCESS & APPROVALS
Q: How long does it typically take to approve materials that feature the logo?
A: Assuming the logo is being used correctly and meets all our guidelines, St. Joseph Media's standard turnaround period is three to five business days. Please upload mockups with enough time for revisions, if necessary.

Q: We would like to post a Facebook/Twitter status encouraging fans to check out the latest issue of the publication and our award-winning products featured in that issue. Can we use the Publication name and/or Publication logo?
A: Yes. The publication has pre-approved copy, specifically for your Facebook and Twitter postings. Please email Canadian Family Licensing Support for more information.

Q: We won an award within the past three years, however the formula and/or name of our award-winning product has since changed. Whom do we contact?
A: Please contact Canadian Family Licensing Support.

Q: Can we use the publication name and/or feature the publication logo and/or cover artwork in our campaign or promotional materials?
A: These requests are handled on a case-by-case basis. Please email Canadian Family Licensing Support.

Q: How can we reference our award on-air? Can you sign the network’s release?
A: You may mention your award on-air provided you do not show content/images of the publication editorial, including the cover or the publication logo, and you have the appropriate agreements in place with the publication Rights & Permissions Department. Please contact Canadian Family Licensing Support for more information.
NOTE: If you would like to show a visual of the award logo on-air, you must have a broadcast advertising agreement in place with Wright's Media and pay the appropriate licensing fee; all materials must be approved by Wright's Media and the publication.

Q: Can we feature our editorial mentions on the brand's website or get reprints of editorial pages?
A: For stand-alone color custom reprints and usage of the publication's material on your website, Please email Canadian Family Licensing Support for more information.

AGREEMENTS, FEES, PAYMENTS & RENEWALS
Q: Do we have to wait for the appropriate Master License and Purchase Agreements to be approved before we begin using the logos?
A: Yes. The appropriate agreements must be in place before you begin using the award logos in the marketplace.

Q: Do we still have to pay the fee if we never actually use the logo?
A: Yes. A signed Purchase Agreement means you agree to payment. Once a Purchase Agreement has been signed, brands are contractually bound to any/all terms of the appropriate Agreements.

Q: My brand won multiple awards all in the same year. Does each logo carry its own licensing fees per promotional usage type?
A: Yes. Each logo carries its own fees. For example, if you were looking to use award logo artwork in an advertising campaign, your brand may license each logo for that campaign.

Q: When are payments due?
A: If you do not choose to pay with a credit card, LicenseStream's billing department will generate an invoice and send it to you directly. The invoice states that payment is due 30 days after the date of the invoice.

Q: Do you offer discounts or waive fees?
A: No. St. Joseph Media does not offer discounts or waive licensing fees and does not honor or lock in pricing. All brands must pay the amount due at the time a Purchase Agreement is executed and/or renewed.

Q: Our promotion will be in market before our one-year agreement expires but will live beyond the agreement's expiration date. Do we need to renew our agreement with the Publication / Wright's Media?
A: Brands cannot place media or begin a promotion after the term's expiration date. Any media or promotion that continues after the expiration date may remain live for a reasonable amount of time, but no more than 45 days. If the media or promotion stays up longer than 45 days and the logo itself has not expired, brands must renew for another year and pay the appropriate annual fee.

Q: Our one-year agreement to use the logo on product packaging is expiring, but we still have stickered products in the marketplace. Can we sell the remaining units?
A: St. Joseph Media allows brands to sell through any stickered product that is shipped to retailers prior to the agreement's expiration date. At the end of the term, brands must inform St. Joseph Media of how many stickered units were shipped to retailers.

Q: I plan to continue use of my logo beyond one year. When should I renew?
A: St. Joseph Media will contact you no more than 60 days prior to the expiration date of your agreement to remind you about your option to renew. Please note that, if the logo itself expires before your agreement does, the renewal option will not be made available.

Q: Our Purchase Agreement expires after the logo itself expires. When should we stop using the logo artwork?
A: Please refer to the dates in your Purchase Agreement(s). In this instance, when a logo expires before your relevant Purchase Agreement expires, you may still use the expired logo up until the expiration date in your Purchase Agreement. If you sign a one-year agreement to use a logo, you still get a full year to use the logo.
